Artico Gallery combines a passion for exceptional 20th-century furniture with craftsmanship, restoration expertise and in-depth research. The focus is on carefully selected pieces from Art Deco, Modernism and the New Objectivity.

My professional roots lie in cabinetmaking. After various stages in my career, my path eventually led me back to where it had all begun: working with wood, historic furniture and my own workshop.
Over the years, this developed into an increasing specialisation in selected 20th-century furniture. My particular interest lies in Art Deco, Bauhaus and the New Objectivity, with a special focus on French Art Deco and the designs of Bruno Paul and De Coene.
For me, the decisive factor is not simply a famous name, but the quality of a piece of furniture: its design, materials, craftsmanship, originality and history.
I do not regard restoration merely as a way of improving a piece visually, but as a respectful approach to a historic object. Wherever possible, original material, aged surfaces and characteristic traces of time should be preserved.
Today, Artico Gallery combines the selective acquisition of exceptional furniture with restoration, art- and design-historical research, provenance research and the careful assessment of individual objects.
Based in Erfurt, I search for and acquire furniture throughout Germany and Europe, restore selected pieces in my own workshop and place them with collectors, galleries, interior designers and enthusiasts of exceptional design in Germany and abroad.
